Formula Student is a design competition organised by Society of Automotive Engineers ( SAE ). Its main aim is to Design, Conceptualize and Manufacture and then race a single seater Formula style race car. It is a scale down version of the glamorous and thrilling FORMULA ONE.
Formula SAE gives university undergrads an oppurtunity to participate in events worldwide. It includes 9 official events; three in USA, three in Europe (UK, Germany, Italy), one in Brazil , one in Japan and Australia and many other unofficial events worldwide.
The concept behind FSAE is to produce a prototype race car as per the stated specifications by FSAE and then getting them evaluated by the top bosses in the industry; including - Pat Clarke, Claude Rouelle and Ross brown. It has constant collaboration with giant companies that consider FSAE as a supreme hub of engineering talent.
Formula Student is not just theory applied in practice but also a platform to learn skills about teamwork, efficient project organisation and working under the pressure of a deadline.
